Direct dealer. e people we've been talking to—who are really the best fit—we don't have to force-feed them the Kool-Aid. ey get it, it strikes a chord with them, and it completely makes sense. ey realize all of the parts and pieces are there to be successful." Experience is a big factor for landing a dealership with Remodel Direct. People who "get it" also know how to be successful in the business. And with an experienced group of dealers, it stands to reason why a more oner- ous and controlling franchise system was not selected. Perhaps the biggest difference between the Remodel Direct offering and other home im- provement dealerships is the wide breadth of products and the amount of training required to know how to sell and install each one. "We offer a couple of different training classes. e classroom portion is one week. It covers operations, product knowledge, mar- keting and sales," Hirschhaut explains. "en, we have an installation training class that is another week. It teaches people how to install almost all of our products. And then there is even a separate two-day installation training class that is specifically for stair lifts. Without question, you will be the subject-matter expert out there." From Boehm's perspective, the product training is critical. As a successful business owner and remodeler, she understands oper- ations. But ramps and stair lifts, for example, were brand-new to her and her team. At the time of this interview she was attending train- ing at Remodel Direct's Buffalo Grove, Illinois, headquarters. "I think we should be able to double our sales in the bathroom remodel marketplace," Boehm says. "Before we were only able to of- fer a bathroom. Now we have a whole host of products. Now we can sell ramps and the walk-in shower. Now we have those options. I see our sales doubling. Definitely." | The 2017 Annual List 101 MOBILITY offers franchises for the instal- lation of aging-in-place and medical mobility modifications in the home.
