ot long ago, homeowners who pursued new windows had only a few options from which they could choose. e ability to tailor other consumer products, however, encour- aged many of them to ask for unconventional designs. As a result, manufacturers expanded product offerings to give customers more flex- ibility and ensure they purchase windows that accommodate their lifestyles. Since then, homeowners have gravitated toward bigger windows with larger panes of glass and narrower, painted frames. is contemporary style requires manufacturers to produce extensive windows that improve sight lines and allow more natural light with- out undermining performance. Remodelers must become familiar with these trends and products so they can answer questions from clients and help guide them through the process of selecting new windows for their existing homes.
