Along with the 2015 IECC, more stringent air tightness requirements are also being introduced. Huber Engineered Woods plans to remove some of the hassle of keeping up with evolving building codes with its solutions that can help meet different levels of desired R-value. e structurally approved engineered wood sheathing panels have built-in polyisocyanurate continuous foam insulation, and were originally launched in R-3, R-6 and R-12 rated insulation thicknesses. Like the company's orig- inal ZIP System sheathing and tape products, the R-9 rated ZIP System R-sheathing option includes an integrated water-resistive barrier that elimi- nates the need for housewrap and can be combined with the ZIP System flash- in g tape to seal panel seams and achieve reduced air infiltration requirements. Additionally, all the R-sheathing thicknesses are approved for prescriptive wall bracing and engineered shear walls. ZIP System R-sheathing and tape are available with a 30-year system limited warranty. For more information, visit zipsystem.com or circle 29.
