DuPont and Dow Merger:
A Big One for Building
Products
DuPont and Dow are merging and the
impact on well-known building products
is unknown at this point, but there is no
question the combined company will be
a force in residential construction. The
combined product oferings complement
one another, but there will be overlap in air
sealing, air barriers and sheathing.
DuPont has said it plans to cut 5,000
employees.
The combined company will be named
DowDuPont and plans to split into three
companies 18‐ to 24 months following the
Congressman Joseph Crowley (D-NY-14)
re-introduced the Real Estate Investment
and Jobs Act of 2015 to incentivize invest-
ment in commercial real estate properties
across the country.

Now that the bill has been passed,
hundreds of billions of dollars are ex-
pected to fow into real estate properties
