Many manufacturers have expansive oferings that meet building codes nationally, so that consumers aren't limited in oferings based on location. "When it comes to front entry doors, we have a large ofering of impact-rated products, and many of our impact-rated products meet many of the building codes basically from the Gulf of Mexico. If you follow Texas, through Louisiana, into Florida, around the panhan- dle and up through the Eastern seaboard, we have products that meet all of those areas," Premeau says. "I go back to that informed consumer [when it comes to door selection], but a lot of it's situational — it depends on that front entry. Do you have an overhang? Do you have an awning? Is it fully exposed? All of those things come into play." Contat from Terma-Tru explains that the company works to stay on top of regional needs and requirements to make sure their oferings ft the bill. "I think overall always pay attention to the regional needs and make sure you're not losing sight of some of these national trends [whether it be glass styles, door styles, size considerations and more]. We defnitely need to fnd a good balance from a holistic viewpoint as well as making sure we aren't missing anything on a regional or niche level," she says. She explains that, while an exterior door might be part of an exterior package, it doesn't necessarily have to blend in with the home's architectural style.
