Portable benchtop saw The ROCKWELL BladeRunner X2 uses assorted T-shank, jigsaw blades to cut wood, PVC, plastic, aluminum and other nonferous metals, as well as ceramic tiles. This portable benchtop saw makes fast and accurate rip, scroll, cross, inside and miter cuts. Weighing less than 15 lbs., the saw measures 6 3 in. high. The tabletop is 17 in. wide by 15 3 in. deep. Blade changes are fast and easy by pressing down and sliding the blade release lever on the left side of the saw to seat or release the blade. Once the blade is in position, guide rollers ensure accurate 90-degree cutting. The saw is powered by a 5.5-amp motor that delivers 3,000 strokes per minute. Circle 25 on inquiry card Multi-purpose tool CRESCENT TOOLS ' multipurpose three-in- one tool serves as adjustable wrench, pass-thru ratchet and pipe wrench. The 8-in. adjustable wrench features a wide jaw opening and is laser etched with standard and metric scales. At the other end of the handle, the pass-thru ratchet works with the set's 10 Crescent X6 combo sockets. The wrench jaw is reversible to convert the tool into a pipe wrench with aggressive teeth on the reversed jaw grip. Circle 23 on inquiry card Tape with digital readout ETAPE16 's metal blade features a digital readout accurate to 1 ⁄ 16 in. or 1mm. One button push will yield a readout in inches, feet, fractions and decimals; it also converts to metric and can toggle between read- ing the inside and outside measurements. It has three built-in memories: hold, which retains a mea- surement after the blade has withdrawn into the case; and two long-term memories that will retain readings after the tape shuts off. The CR2032 coin battery can last for up to 64 hours of continuous use; the tape shuts down after five minutes of nonuse. Circle 22 on inquiry card Random orbit sander DEWALT 's 5-in. Variable Speed Random Orbit Sander (DWE6423K) is part of the Perform & Protect line of power tools. The tool minimizes vibration by featuring a separate counterweight; an expanded rubber over-mold increases comfort. A rubber dust skirt improves dust collection, and the dust collection port has a one-handed locking dust bag that works with the company's dust extractors and universal connector system. Operating at 3 amps delivering 8,000 to 12,000 OPM on a 3 ⁄ 32 -in. orbit, the tool is 140mm high and weighs 2.9 lbs. Circle 21 on inquiry card Oscillating multi-tool HITACHI POWER TOOLS has launched the 18V Brushless Lithium Ion Oscillating Multi-Tool, model CV18DBLP4, that can cut, scrape, grind or sand. It is sold as a tool-body only but is compat- ible with any Hitachi 18-volt slide-type battery and charger system. A brushless motor system achieves oscillation speeds up to 20,000 rpm, and a micro-processor chip manages and ensures correct flow delivery to the motor. Users can select from a standard mode or auto-mode, where the tool will determine the appropriate level of vibration needed based on the load. Other features include a soft start, LED work light and tool-less blade change. Circle 26 on inquiry card Throatless shears KETT TOOLS ' KL-2040 Throatless Shears feature a 4-amp staight handle, single-speed electric motor capable of pro- ducing shear speeds up to 2,500 rpm to cut 13-gauge C.R. mild steel and most grades up of stainless steel (up to 15 gauge) at 220 in. per minute.
