Q: When and how did you
choose this career?
A: I chose this career when I was
a kid. My grandfather gave me a
hammer, some nails and some
wood. It sounds funny, but I knew
then that this was the career I
would choose.
October 17-18
Q: How has the remodeling profession changed since you've
been involved?
A: Remodeling has changed for
the better. Pittsburgh is one of the
top 10 cities in the country for this
industry.

Q: What is the most unusual
project you have completed?
A: It was not really unusual, but a
unique project was taking an old
farm home and doing a complete
whole-house remodel and keeping
a period-authentic aesthetic.
Q: When and why did you join
NAHB Remodelers?
A: I joined NAHBR because of the
education, information, to get
involved and know the great people who run it and who are
involved in NAHBR.
Q: If you could change one thing
about the remodeling industry,
what would it be?
A: I would change the fact that
remodelers are builders as well,
and that some remodelers are
looked down on by builders and
not given recognition we deserve.
Q: What does your gut tell you
about our economic situation
and when it will improve?
A: The current economic situation
in Pittsburgh is booming and it is
improving more each year.

Q: What have you done to grow
your business?
A: We joined the University of
Pittsburgh 's Small Business
Development Center where we
meet with advisors regularly to
help us succeed as a small business. We also became a member
at the Institute for Entrepreneurial
Excellence and completed a fellowship program aimed at helping
sma ll businesses. We have
improved our business by becoming a design/build firm. We have
also gained recognition in the
social media market with a new
website, plus new Facebook,
Houzz and LinkedIn accounts.
Q: What is your most treasured
possession?
A: I would say my home is my
most treasured posession. We purchased it in 2002 and through the
years have made it into our dream
home. It's where our family will
grow, and friends and family are
always welcome.
Q: What motivates you?
A: My wife and two daughters
motivate me. Also living in this
great country and knowing there
are courageous men and women
fighting for us.
Q: Please list your career
accomplishments?
A: Currently I am vice president
at the Builders Association of
Metropolitan Pittsburgh, and
soon to be president in 2014. I was
2012 Builder of the Year for the
Builders A ssociation of
Metropolitan Pittsburgh. We have
won numerous awards, both local
and national.
