Photos: John Lea, Decksouth COMPANY: DECKSOUTH LOCATION: ALPHARETTA, GEORGIA SQUARE FOOTAGE: 3,500+ PROJECT COST: $607,000 The clients wanted usable square footage despite their sloped backyard, and they also asked for an outdoor kitchen and a custom hot tub big enough to practice Eskimo rolls with a kayak. The project had a hard completion date because the homeowners planned to host a graduation party on the finished product. A multilevel deck maximizes the amount of dry living space available. The upper porch has a 14-foot bi-fold door that connects to the living room and a 12-foot power screen that opens up to the deck. A watertight upper level allows for the full bar below, while a covered pavilion contains a full outdoor kitchen and 10-foot teak table. The new bi-fold kitchen window leads to a serving bar on the open deck, and the lower porch opens into an in-law suite.
