Marvin Windows and Doors has seen big glass used in both traditional and mod- ern remodeling projects, so the company released the largest wood-clad casement and awning windows in the industry. e Marvin Ultimate Casement and Replacement Casement, as well as the Ultimate Awning and Replacement Awning, are now available in sizes up to 8 feet tall and 4 feet wide. Weather Shield Windows & Doors recog- nized this movement and introduced bifold and multi-slide doors in the last year to ex- pand usable living space. e Contemporary Collection Multi-Slide Door comes in siz- es up to 50 feet wide and 10 feet tall, and configurations include single direction and bi-parting with stacked or pocketed panels, each of which can be up to 5 feet wide. "e bigger the better is becoming reali- ty—windows and doors have now become the 'wall' of the building," says Val Bach, testing and certification manager for Weather Shield. "We have changed our processes and designs to accommodate the architect's trendy design aspects. Not only do we need to offer these products, but we need to offer them with high performance ratings." "People are recognizing the impact that windows and large patio doors have on the ar- chitecture of their home," says Cathy Leonard, marketing communications for Windsor Windows & Doors.
