Te wall concealing the toilet area comprises six texture levels of gray tile, rang- ing from a polished to a matte look in vari- ous-sized strips to create a multidimensional efect. A freestanding rectangular tub com- plements the elongated rectangular vessel trough sink and wall-mounted faucets. Te vanity is a dresser modifed to conceal the plumbing fxtures within, and mirrors on the drawer faces create a theme carried through the home's hall dresser and second hall bath. A white sink sits along an ornately mosaic tiled wall in a foliage pattern. | T his 1959 home had under- gone remodel work in the past that introduced clean, contemporary lines and natural light. Te master bath re- model goal was to stay in line with the rest of the house's style while transforming the compartmentalized space into one large, open area. Te clients were attracted to a crisp, ele- gant look, but not pure white, which led them to use Calacutta marble. Te 131-sq.-ft. space accommodated a his and hers vanity area, whirlpool tub, shower with a bench and water closet, and windows to see the green area outside. Te whirlpool tub was centered upon entering with a dra- matic deck-mounted tub fll. Te marble top deck fows from the tub seamlessly on top of a new bench in the shower. Te shower itself does not have a dam to keep it more modern, adding a sense of grandeur in the room and further enhanced by the use of a hidden shower drain. | SILVER Airoom Architects, Builders and Remodelers, Lincolnwood, Ill., airoom.com BRONZE Pagenstecher Group, Kensington, Md. pagenstechergroup.com SILVER Design Build Pros, Red Bank, N.J. designbuildpros.com BRONZE Jackson Design and Remodeling, San Diego JacksonDesignandRemodeling.com 46 September 2015 QR QualifiedRemodeler.com
