Room Addition Over $250,000 M ost remodelers have en- countered poor renovation work that needed to be completely undone. Such was the case with a 1980s addition that left the kitchen and back room a maze of doors and poorly placed columns. Men At Work Construction of Toronto reconfgured a set of basement stairs and added a simple one-story room addition with no obstructions front to back. Cabinets were reconfgured to add space. But the key development was a set of foor to ceiling glass doors that can open completely out onto a deck at the same level. Te connection between indoor and outdoor space is seamless with the doors open, and the back of the house is light flled and spaceous when the doors are closed. | SILVER MEN AT WORK CONTRACTORS, TORONTO menatwork.ca Project name: 48 Hogarth Ave. Location: Toronto Square footage before: 300 Square footage after: 330 Cost: $300,000 BRONZE Landis Construction, Washington, D.C.
