Kitchens Less Than $75,000 W hen downsizing from a 4,200-sq.-ft. to 2,000- sq.-ft. home, the clients wanted to make the smaller house feel more spacious, which included remodeling the kitchen for two cooks and providing ample storage. Designing a work triangle and creating new cabinet storage met both of those goals. Track lighting below the sky- lights provides task lighting while the existing recessed cans provide general illumination. Red cabinetry ofers the desired "wow" factor, and the white walls, countertop and foor covering keep the space light and bright. It is completed by wrapping the peninsula countertop with a waterfall edge. Nothing was square or plumb, which was difcult to disguise because the design did not call for moldings to cover the faws. Every inch was well utilized to create a symmetrical, clean-lined design; there are no dead corners. | GOLD NEIL KELLY CO., PORTLAND, ORE.
