Kitchens $75,000—$150,000 R emoving 60 years from the kitchen and taking advantage of rare lake views were the primary goals in this inner city home remodel, in addi- tion to providing more work space, lighting, updated appliances, storage, contrasting fn- ishes and clean lines. Removing the wall be- tween the new kitchen and dining room opened the area while introducing natural light and the lake views from the foor-to-ceiling dining room windows. Relocating an existing kitchen window also yields more lake views and allows cabinetry to be driven into the corner of the back wall. New cabinetry along the perimeter and a freestanding island help with storage, plus provide a focal point and help with the fow of the room. Existing white oak fooring under the vinyl was refnished with a gray stain. Other materials include white quartz, glass and stone on the backsplash, various lighting fea- tures, and heavy cabinetry hardware that matches the appliance handles. | GOLD MCDONALD REMODELING, INVER GROVE HEIGHTS, MINN.
