Thermally improved
aluminum skylight
MILGARD 's thermally improved aluminum
skylight is available in fixed and operable models.
The aluminum frames will not rot, peel or require
paint. An optional motorized version includes a
rain sensor that automatically closes the unit when
it rains. The skylights also are energy-efficient
with standard SunCoat Low-E insulating glass or
the SunCoatMax option with Low-E2 glass.

SOLATUBE INTERNATIONAL INC. has
released the Solatube Smart LED system. It harvests
the sun's light using the daylighting system model and
transitions it to LED lighting at night, offering a fusion
of daylight and energy-efficient LEDs. Homeowners can
realize up to a 94 percent energy savings. An optional
occupancy sensor will activate the LEDs only when a
low-light area is occupied.

tintable glass
WASCO 's E-Class with SageGlass
Unplugged is a solar-powered, self-con-
tained version of SageGlass dynamic
glass. The electronically tintable glass
requires no electrical wiring and controls
sunlight and glare without shades. The
wireless, solar-powered battery system is
factory-installed; it can be controlled via
an app on a mobile device. The product is
eligible for a 30 percent federal tax credit
for cost of unit and installation.

Enhanced tubular
skylights maximize light
ODL INC. offers Energy Star-qualified Tubular Skylights
with 98 percent reflective mirro interiors, in addition
to the current 95 percent reflective material model.
The enhancement increases the product's performance
by maximizing the amount of natural light transmitted
into interior spaces. Light passing through the upgraded
tubular skylights is a minimum of 25 percent brighter than
the current 95 percent model when all other factors are
equal. The skylights are available in 10- and 14-in. widths
and can be installed between roof rafters without fram-
ing, drywalling, painting or construction.

Residential roof
windows
VELUX AMERICA 's residential roof
windows include a new center-pivot
model and a side-hinged roof access
model, in addition to its traditional top-
hinged model. The top-hinged model
has bottom-handle operation, the pivot
window is suitable for low installations,
and the side-hinged unit can be installed
as a right- or left-hinged window and
has a locking device to keep the sash
in an open position. The roof windows
are in reach and hand-operated, and
feature a ventilation flap to allow fresh
air to enter the home without security or
weather concerns.
