SUB-ZERO/WOLF How do your drawer appliances help residential remodelers? Drawer appliances ft in easily and seamlessly with the fow of the home and match any lifestyle. For example, fresh produce can be stored in the kitchen island with our refrigerator drawers; chilled drinks can be stored in the exercise room with our under-counter refrigerator; and homeowners will never run out of ice out by the pool thanks to Sub-Zero's ice maker. We pride ourselves on Sub-Zero refrigeration being "anywhere refrigeration," in any room — even outdoors. Wolf also carries a new drawer microwave that installs in spaces conventional microwaves can't. It can also turn the microwave into a warming drawer, keeping cooked food at its ready- to-serve temperature for up to 90 minutes. In regard to Wolf 's warming drawer, it has a variety of diferent uses. It makes sure people can have a hot, favorful meal, whenever they show up. Wolf owners in cooler parts of the country tell us our warming drawer also comes in handy for warming up dinner plates during the winter months, keeping the food warmer longer. What is the next trend in drawer appliances? Te next trend will be expanding drawer appliances across all types of kitchen appliances, just as we've done with our Wolf drawer microwave. Tere will be more opportunity to take a standard kitchen appliance and create a drawer model out of it. Tis is also becoming increasingly important because of the growing concept of universal design. Homeowners want to live in a space that will accommodate them as they age. Drawer appliances makes it easier to reach and control as time goes on. We are also seeing some new kitchen designs doing away with anything above the counter (especially cabin- etry), so this can help create that clean, integrated look. U-Line's drawer models are designed to in- tegrate into a standard 24-in. cabinet depth and are ofered in a 24-in. width. Tey are ofered in either our ultra-premium Modular 3000 Series or our premium 1000 Series. Te Modular 3000 Series Drawer Model (3024DWR) is unique because it's designed to seamlessly integrate into surrounding cab- inetry and does not require any additional clearance around sides, top or rear of unit for ventilation, allowing for in- stallation fexibility in a variety of applications, including islands. Additionally, U-Line's 3024DWR temperature goes down to 34 F, and it ofers independently controlled dual zones for each drawer, allow- ing for precise preservation of food and beverages. Te 3024DWR is also equipped with our U-Select Control, offering five modes: Beverage, Deli, Market, Pantry and Root Cellar. Te U-Select Control ofers a digital OLED display and is ergonomically located on top of the upper drawer. What is the next trend in drawer appliances? We see two increasing trends in drawer appli- ances. Precise food and beverage preservation is a trend in refrigeration that we see becoming more popular. One of the ways to achieve bet- ter food and beverage preservation is to utilize a better alternative to the conventional big-box refrigerator, like strategically placing smaller refrigerators throughout your space. We call this modular refrigeration. By designing with modular refrigeration, you achieve more ef- cient kitchen choreography, more usable space, and reduce food waste due to advanced food and beverage preservation systems. Horizontal lines in kitchen design are becoming more and more popular, infuenced by European design. Drawer appliances allow the designer and customer to achieve a look that includes more horizontal lines, rather than vertical lines that would result from a standard refrigerator.` Circle 17 or visit ForResidentialPros.com/10153116 ForResidentialPros.com QR December 2014 43
