22 Small-fooprint Generators
Vertical standby generator systems by GE,
powered by Briggs and Stratton, use
intelligent power management to deliver
more power from a smaller unit. The
generators feature a smaller footprint so they
can be placed closer to the home. The
systems come equipped with the Symphony
II power management system, which
communicates using existing power lines in
the home to lower installation costs. Control
modules can be installed at any point
between the appliance and the power
management box.

23 Variable-speed
Generator
The Kohler 6VSG 6kW generator has a
variable engine speed of 2,300 to 2,900 rpm,
which reduces maintenance requirements,
fuel consumption and extends the engine
life when compared to fixed-speed engines.
Fueled by liquid propane or natural gas, the
generator provides consistent direct current
output to maintain battery banks directly
without conversions from alternating current.
